THIS HAZARD REPORTING CAPABILITY IS INTENDED FOR ALL COMMUNITIES OUTSIDE OF AVIATION. AVIATION HAZARD REPORTING WILL CONTINUE TO BE ACCOMPLISHED THROUGH THE WESS AVIATION MISHAP AND HAZARD REPORTING SYSTEM (WAHMRS). 2. REPORTING OF HAZARDS, NEAR MISSES AND NON-REPORTABLE MISHAPS (MISHAPS WITH DAMAGE COSTS LESS THAN $20,000 AND PERSONNEL FIRST AID INJURIES) SHALL BE ACCOMPLISHED USING THIS MODULE IAW REFERENCE (A). IT IS ESSENTIAL THAT LEADERSHIP THROUGHOUT THE CHAIN OF COMMAND ENCOURAGE, AND COMMAND SAFETY PROGRAMS FOSTER, HAZARD REPORTING WITHOUT FEAR OF REPERCUSSION IN ORDER TO ENABLE OTHERS TO MITIGATE HAZARDS AND PREVENT FUTURE INJURY OR DEATH OF PERSONNEL AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT. 3. THIS HAZARD REPORTING MODULE CONTAINS THE FOLLOWING REVISIONS: A. APPROXIMATELY 40 PERCENT REDUCTION IN DATA FIELDS. ONLY DATA MANDATED BY THE OFFICE OF THE SECRETARY OF DEFENSE OR DATA THAT IS FREQUENTLY REQUESTED BY THE FLEET OR SENIOR LEADERSHIP HAS BEEN INCLUDED. B. IMPROVED SCREEN FLOW. ENHANCED ORGANIZATION COUPLED WITH DATA REDUCTION HAS DECREASED THE NUMBER OF WEB PAGES BY APPROXIMATELY 85 PERCENT. C. IMPROVED PAGE-TO-PAGE PERFORMANCE. THE HAZARD MODULE WAS SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED TO OPTIMIZE APPLICATION SPEED TO MITIGATE BANDWIDTH LIMITATIONS IN MOST NAVY AND USMC ENVIRONMENTS. THE PAGE-TO-PAGE PERFORMANCE IS SIGNIFICANTLY FASTER WITH MINIMAL TIME LAG. A 67 PERCENT REDUCTION IN TIME REQUIRED TO COMPLETE A HAZARD REPORT WAS NOTED IN TESTING. 4. THIS APPLICATION CAN BE ACCESSED BY SELECTING THE NEW HAZARD ICON ADDED TO THE LIST OF MISHAP TYPE ICONS ON THE SUBSYSTEM SELECTION PAGE OF WESS, AND FOLLOWING THE INSTRUCTIONS PROVIDED.
