KEY DEFINITIONS RELATING TO COVID-19: A. LOST WORKDAYS OR DAYS AWAY FROM WORK AS DEFINED IN REF A: THE TOTAL NUMBER OF FULL CALENDAR DAYS, WEEKENDS INCLUDED, THAT A CIVILIAN OR MILITARY MEMBER WAS UNABLE TO WORK AS A RESULT OF AN INJURY OR OCCUPATIONAL ILLNESS, EXCLUDING THE DAY OF THE MISHAP AND THE DAY RETURNED TO DUTY OR WORK. FOR COVID-19 ILLNESS TO CAUSE A REPORTABLE EVENT, COMMANDS/ACTIVITIES MUST VERIFY THAT A WORK-RELATED EXPOSURE, WHICH CREATED SYMPTOMS, OCCURRED AND THAT THE EMPLOYEE WAS NOT ABLE TO WORK IN ANY CAPACITY. EVENTS IN WHICH EMPLOYEES SIMPLY CONTRACT THE VIRUS THROUGH COMMUNITY SPREAD ARE NOT REPORTABLE AND MUST NOT BE ENTERED IN RMI. B. LOST TIME CASE AS DEFINED IN REF A: A NON-FATAL TRAUMATIC INJURY THAT CAUSES ANY LOSS OF TIME FROM WORK AFTER THE DAY OR SHIFT ON WHICH IT OCCURRED; OR NON-FATAL NON-TRAUMATIC ILLNESS AND/OR DISEASE THAT CAUSES ANY LOSS OF TIME FROM WORK. FOR COVID- 19 ILLNESS TO CAUSE A REPORTABLE EVENT, COMMANDS/ACTIVITIES MUST VERIFY THAT A WORK-RELATED EXPOSURE, WHICH CREATED SYMPTOMS, OCCURRED AND THAT THE EMPLOYEE WAS NOT ABLE TO WORK IN ANY CAPACITY. C. RESTRICTED WORK OR JOB TRANSFER AS DEFINED IN REF A: RESTRICTED WORK ACTIVITY OR TEMPORARY TRANSFER FROM THAT WORK OCCURS WHEN, AS A RESULT OF A WORK-RELATED INJURY OR ILLNESS, A SUPERVISOR OR HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONAL KEEPS, OR RECOMMENDS KEEPING, A CIVILIAN EMPLOYEE FROM DOING THE ROUTINE FUNCTIONS OF HIS OR HER JOB, OR FROM WORKING THE FULL WORK DAY THAT THE EMPLOYEE WOULD HAVE BEEN SCHEDULED TO WORK BEFORE THE INJURY OR ILLNESS OCCURRED. THE EMPLOYEE DID NOT LOSE WORK TIME, BUT WAS RESTRICTED FROM PERFORMING SELECTED ROUTINE FUNCTIONS OR JOB FUNCTIONS WERE CHANGED SUCH AS TRANSFERRING AN EMPLOYEE TO OTHER DUTIES DUE TO A VERIFIED WORK-RELATED COVID-19 EXPOSURE (E.G., TANK WATCH WAS ALLOWED TO DO ADMINISTRATIVE WORK ON TELEWORK UNDER A ROM ORDER).
