 Ladies and Gentlemen,

As we move into March, thank you for your continued engagement and partnership in support of the NAVSAFENVTRACEN training. This update provides a snapshot of open taskers, funding reminders, and key information regarding the 34th Annual Joint Safety and Environmental Professional Development Symposium.

NAVSAFENVTRACEN Open Taskers.  NAVSAFENVTRACEN currently has two open taskers. These taskers provide Echelon II commands the opportunity to actively influence training and ensure it meets Fleet needs. Timely and accurate participation is essential. Your input directly drives course scheduling, funding decisions, and overall training readiness.  Taskers are as follows:

  • Aviation Safety Specialist Training Requirement Review (DON-260212-7RM7).  Echelon II commands have an opportunity to directly shape the Aviation Safety Specialist curriculum. Please identify experienced SMEs by 16 March; final feedback is due 30 April. Your input ensures alignment with operational risk and community requirements.

  • FY27 Training Needs Assessment – Environmental & Emergency Management (DON-260219-26H2).  To support the Navy Environmental Readiness Training Program (NERPT) Steering Committee, the NAVSAFENVTRACEN is preparing to develop the FY27 course schedule based on needs assessment data from Ech II commands. The accuracy of this data is critical. Validated requirements will determine which courses are scheduled, funded, and executed. Due to anticipated FY27 funding constraints, enrollment will be compared to submitted requirements 34 days prior to CONUS convenings and 64 days prior to OCONUS convenings. If 75% of the validated need has not been filled, the course will be cancelled. The requirement submitted becomes the benchmark. Overstated needs increase cancellation risk and waste limited resources. Understated needs create training gaps. Please ensure quotas—not number of courses—are entered, and that all seats are ultimately reserved in eNTRS once the schedule is released for enrollment.

Environmental Community – FY26 Funding Reminder.  Several Environmental Community courses remain unfunded. Absent receipt of funding, courses will be cancelled approximately 45 days prior to CONUS convenings and approximately 75 days prior to OCONUS convenings. Several Q3 convenings are impacted. Please review the attached FY26 CHRON for the current status.

I would like to note that, due to ongoing budget uncertainties, environmentally funded courses may be at risk of being unfunded as budget cuts affect the schoolhouse between my tri weekly. We fully understand the challenges this period of uncertainty presents for all of us. However, we want to assure you that any cancellations resulting from these funding cuts, or any other currently unfunded courses, will be promptly communicated to all individuals registered in eNTRS, ensuring they are informed of any changes to the course they have registered for.

As of release of this tri-weekly the following unfunded courses have been removed from the FY26 CHRON due to lack of funding:
