The Naval Safety Command has begun its 2025 Motorcycle Safety campaign highlighting the theme, “Ride right. Stay in the fight.”

ALNAV 032/25 was released in a call to action for motorcycle safety. Entering the third quarter of FY25, the Navy and Marine Corps team had lost 15 Sailors and 9 Marines with a projected 33-36 total motorcycle fatalities by the end of FY25. Leaders are called to action for the safety and well-being of Sailors and Marines through effective risk management, training and identifying the most at-risk riders. Data shows 18-26 year old male riders are most at-risk. Here are some steps to save lives:

  • All commands must have a Motorcycle Safety Rep (MSR)
  • MSRs must communicate with their command riders regularly
  • Organize group rides
  • Group inexperienced and experienced riders together

Please use the resources on this page and website to help reduce motorcycle mishaps. Remember the basics and keep up-to-date with both Navy and civilian safety regulations and best practices. Be safe and remain vigilant regarding motorcycle safety. Find more information regarding motorcycle safety in the 101 Critical Days of Summer presentations as well as Naval Safety Command's Motorcycle Rider Down Reports and Newsletters. For weekly statistical information, see Naval Safety Command's Statistics page.
